what are some of my options in Canada for an Acer with an HD 6850M or better?

I know about the AS7750G series, which I like, but from I've found so far, all the 6850M's are neutered in having DDR3 rather than GDDR5. anyone have actual benchmarks of the DDR3 model?

does anyone know how this limited model of the HD 6850M compares against the GT555? I looked up some things...but due to so many differences between CPU's and such, I wasn't able to make much of an apples to apples comparison between the two options.

what are my other options? I'd prefer 17.3" or larger running second gen Intel Core processors.

need to replace my dying Acer below... :(

Hi camvan, it's so difficult for me to find any real benchmarks and comparisons to AMD 6770 or 555m, so I am searching the net. It seems that 6850 ddr3 is faster than 555m and 6770 depending on game, usualy .. it's 2-3 frames faster on high settings (ref. notebookcheck.net) but 555m from Nvidia is easy to overclock.. but if you want 17 inch screen and 1600x900 resolution go for Acer, I will probably do the same (7750 series) review in polish (use google translator): Notebookcheck.pl: Recenzja Acer Aspire 7750G

You could try getting an Acer 8735g or 8940g. These models can be user upgraded to an ATI 5870 gddr5 or most other ATI cards.
Also the Gateway nv78, although its an old chipset, I'm running it now with an ATI 4860 and such.
