TAIPEI, TAIWAN (12 May, 2004) - Acer will announce a new product identity for notebooks at a press conference on 31 May, in Taipei, one day before the Computex show commences.

Customers are becoming increasingly image conscious, and demand products that are meticulously designed for intuitive and trouble-free use. With this new product identity, Acer is making a design statement that represents its brand position and vision, and emphasizing the unique characteristics of Acer notebooks that are created around customers' needs.

Speakers at the press conference include J.T. Wang, president of Acer Inc., and Jim Wong, president of IT Products Business Group, Acer Inc.

The press conference will be held at 2pm on 31 May, 2004, at Bando.8, 8F Mitsukoshi Dept. Store #A9, Warner Village, No. 9 Songshou Road, Taipei Hsin-Yi District.

thats good news. Perhaps they will start selling their notebooks direct or in barebones so retailers can customise them.

A lot of the NB look great but have one annoying thing you cant change (like 4200 drives or bright red paint jobs)
