    Hi ALL,

Have you ever had any issues with DVD drive?
I have Optiarc drive (not sure exactly which one but will update later) and problem is that the drive cannot read few DVD/CDs. I have already found 3 such discs : COD5, Fritz10 and one music CD. All discs are original without any scratches.
I have also Acer Extensa and no issues - all discs are read.

It could be a hardware failure, but before coming to that conclusion, have you tried cleaning the optical drive? Dust can often build up on the lens of the drive which can cause this issue. A can of compressed air should do the trick.

I have not tried yet, but I do not think that it will help.
In the past, I had aslo Aspire5024 and the problem was the same - the CD disc coud not be read.
Now I have extensa5022 and Aspire6955 and extensa reads perfectly.
Also I had HP9780ew and had no issues.
I bought 6935 2 monts ago so optical drive must be clean.

Well, it still won't hurt to try :)

Since your 6935 is only 2 months old, I would suggest contacting Acer for an optical drive replacement. Your warranty should cover the costs.
