This is the first time that I have used one of these forums and I am not very technically minded so please be gentle with me.

I bought my daughters two Acer aspire one notebooksmodel zg5 with the following numbers Atheros AR5BXB63

they both have the same problem on boot up
    Quote
Realtek PCI Ethernet Controller Series v1.15 (090224)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0f: Exiting Pxe Rom.
Bo Bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key Unquote

From the little I know about computers this translates to me that the notebook is expecting to find some thing attached to it which it has never had and a disc drive which it does not have either.

Can you please help this heckled dad sort out his daughters computers.

    Thank you

Boot order is set in BIOS on such a manner so that the notebook tries to boot from LAN first.
Access BIOS and change boot order so that either HDD was first.

You bought them new? I mean sure you sure there even are HDDs inside?
BIOS doesn't detect them but you should be able to hear the HDD or feel vibrations- it's all very faint but still...
