Help would be greatly appreciated here lol. Ok, my adaptor or charger as I like to call it, has gone bad. Right at the end where it plugs into the computer has shorted out or is not making good connection at the inside of the plug. I looked on acer's website and they want $60 for a new one. My question is will a universal adapter work. I have noticed universal ones are cheaper, but I do not want to hurt my laptop at the cost of a few dollars saved.

Acer laptops have allergy when it comes to third-party power components like batteries or adapters. Some of the models actually work with non Acer components but it's a total lottery. In my opinion you should get a genuine Acer adapter, it might save you a lot of troubles and money in the future.
