Hello everyone, this was actually the site that's recommended so highly of Acer and I couldn't have made a better choice. But unfortunately at the time I didn't realize that I would be getting a new phone, my new Treo 650. So I opted to get the Aspire 1690 without native bluetooth. Now I know it's as simple as adding that little chip but my question is, does anyone know if Acer would sell it to me or does anyone have the slightest idea of where i'd be able to install it myself if it had to come down to that? Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, looking forward to continuing in this forum.

The only thing right now is either a USB Bluetooth dongle, or a PCMCIA bluetooth card. The problem with an internal card is that you'll have to turn it on - I'm not familiar with the 1690-series personally, but I don't think it has button on its chasis to turn on the BT module?

However, I think there is a Bluetooth + 802.11bg PCI card, look into that as well.

Yes, there's a Bluetooth + wireless module, the Acer Ferrari uses it. I haven't been able to find it anywhere though, but I'm going to look because I plan on getting a bluetooth enabled PDA and I think the bluetooth would be useful.
