    Hi guys! There's no option of a blu-ray writer. Anyone tried installing a blu-ray writer?
    I was thinking of getting this one but not very sure if it will work with the 8930G

    Sorry for being such a noob but I've changed optical drives on the pc before but never for the laptop. :D

    It's a little more complicated on a laptop. I'd guess the Acer is a SATA drive. Make sure you get one of those. Getting it to fit is one obstacle. Given the odd shape of the bezel shown here, it doubt it's a straight swap, though you may be able to swap the bezels if everything else lines up. Good Luck.

    yeah, the face plate is quite odd shaped thats my main worry. i will try to remove the faceplate and see if the drive is regular shaped after all. Will update later.

    Need more research I guess or wait for someone else to do it =p
    200 pounds is a lot of money!
