    Hello All

New to the forum. looking at upgrading my 8920G. just upped the ram to 4G. Want to upgrade the processor to a T9300/T9400.

Is it possible to install the TV tuner in a model that didn't come from the factory with it?

Or if anyone else has some ideas for upgrades, that would be great
thanks in advance for any help.

You probably can but it may be very difficult. You would need a service guide, in my opinion, to get an idea of how much work is involved with upgrading the CPU. Depending on how the motherboard is laid out, you may be required to almost completely disassemble your laptop to gain access to the cpu socket to swap the processor. Unfortunately, you can not ask for service guides on this forum and after a quick search on the web, I can't find one either.

Oh, and the TV tuner. You'd have to drill a hole somewhere so you can install the port for the antenna to plug in. Doesn't seem worth it to me. You would be better off with a USB tuner.

The tv tuner may not be that easy to install. Might be easy to slot the card in, but if there is no antenna wires spare, you would then need to open the screen up, put the wires inside the screen and then feed the wires into the base of the computer. Or drill some holes in like paten said. Buying a USB one would make life a lot easier.
