I deleted a partition on my laptop (Acer Aspire 1681) and now I can't boot into windows. It says the file hal.dll is missing or corrupt. I looked around online and found some commands to use in the windows recovery console. Unfourtunatly when I boot into the console with my XP disc it asks for a administrator password. I do not know this password, nor did I ever create one. With my past experiences the admin password is by default blank, but the console does not accept this. Did acer make an admin password? If so, what is it?

Turns out there was no password; windows was just screwed. I had to reformat. Thanks anyway.
