Thanks hoggie, but this is not the problem...

I've found the reason for this...

If I hibernate the ACER and then I'll not plug off the power cord and I restart it, the WLAN will turn on.
If I Hibernate the ACER and then I'll plug off the power cord, wait for a 30 seconds or so, then plug on the cord and restart the ACER, WLAN will NOT turn on...
I'm usually use my laptop without battery to extend the life of it!!!

I'm sure that if I hibernate it with the battery, WLAN always turn on...

Could you check this?? Could you hibernate your 5920 without battery and then plug off the cord power, wait for a minute and then turn on your ACER again and will see if your WLAN will turn on??...

    It's curious effect... :)

I dunno, i tried using my 5920G without the battery and little things (the touchpad kept on enabling itself after each reboot) made me stick to keeping the battery in. I definitely had no problems with the wlan.

I could only suggest updating the drivers for the wlan. You have the 4965AGN? Use the latest:

    http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15798/eng/11.5.1.2_VT_DRIVERS.zip

also the ID tool may be worth it as well:

    http://downloadmirror.intel.com/8061/eng/INTEL_NETWORK_CONNECTION_ID_TOOL_305.EXE

    it could help for troubleshooting.

Update the chipset drivers as well:

    http://downloadmirror.intel.com/14528/a08/infinst_autol.exe

install them all, restart your acer afterwards. Whatever power option you user, set it to default. Try hibernating again and see what happens.

Nop, I have the 3495ABG. Anyway I've installed the driver you've told me and the chipset drivers as well, but it doesn't be the reason...

I'll try to check the power options as well, but I guess I didn't modify anything on it...

    Best regards... ;)

I think its because your WLAN is controlled by Power management.

So try changing the WLAN modes between AC power & Batt. Power modes.

But I think that if it were a software failure, should fail with or without battery and with or without the power cord plugged, don't you think so??...

If the wlan status has been bad saved on the disk, it should fail allways,
but only fails if, when the laptop is completely shut down, I unplug the cable (without the battery). If I don't unplug the power cord or the laptop has the battery then doesn't fail...

It is perhaps only an issue of the wlan 3495ABG...

Have you installed Vista SP1? I had a similar problem on my Sony G11 and SP1 fixed it.
