Repairing an Acer Aspire 5315 for a friend. Everything was fine, after a reformat and a fresh OS install, everything was going fine. Next step was to install the drivers and have everything back to normal again.

BUT. When installing the new Bios Update, it crashed. Figured nothing of it and it would just be re-run when I started up again.

But no power, no nothing. The laptop won't make a sound, no lights, no nothing.

Since I don't have the money to buy a new motherboard for this friend (student) I'm kind of panicking. Can anyone advise?!

Take a look here (bottom of the post) for info on how to recover from a bad flash.

tried this method. When pressing Fn + Esc and pressing on power simultaneously, nothing happens. No reading from the disk. nothing. I'm at a loss.
