It's true. Since 2 days ago, none of my USB ports (3 in total) are not working. I thought my usb mouse have died, but none of my usb devices works.
MY Pen drive lights up when connected, but the notebook do not recognize him as a drive. The USB optical mouse flashes red when connected and then turns off (1 second). Even when windows are starting (discarding, maybe, any "windows problem" doubts).

I don't know what to do. All USB devices works perfectly on my other desktop computer.
Should I reinstall windows? I do not think it will work, cause the mouse do not light up when i boot (no-windows environment).
I already have tried to uninstall and remove all usb ports from Device Manager, then restart. The windows recognize all usb PORTS again, but they stilll not work.

    What should I do??

Try re-installing the Chipset drivers for your motherboard. The drivers for the USB Hubs may be corrupt.

I suggest you do fresh install of windows , But if dont want to take the trouble i suggest a better option

Download and burn a live linux cd like knoppix or slax

Then power up you notebook and try plugging in the usb mouse and see if it works try one or two device like memory stick and other before giving up...

BTW : linux recongnizes usb device like mem stick /dev/sda ...

Thanks guys, but it didnt worked.
I´ve tried the Linux Knoppix/Kurumin thing (the bootable version of Linux), and it didn´t worked. I´ve suspected so, because the mouse don´t light up even when it´s on the bios screen, or a non-system screen.

I have reinstalled then the Windows, and it was of no use.

Have take the notebook to the assistance. :(

Hope they can fix it. I fear a controller problem.
