    Good morning all,

I've got a Acer Core i3 (from OfficeMax USA) that for the most part I love. It suits me just fine. I would like to protect my battery as much as possible.

Machine is a Acer Aspire 5740-5513

My companies laptop, IBM Thinkpad T43, has a battery manager that allows the setting of the charging threshold, I keep mine at 95%, which I think may help. It also has a program to discharge the battery and then recharge which also resets the battery status.

Is there anything from Acer or aftermarket that will let me control the charging status of the battery more than whats standard on this machine?

About the only complaint I have right now is how cheap the recharger is. I have significantly less expensive electronics that have used better chargers. Probably insignificant, but, I think that Acer could have used a better more sturdier charger with this laptop.

Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge here on this board and how willing many of you are to share and help. I check out several forums on many different topics and try to help when I can. Hopefully I can contribute sometime here!!!

    Steve

Do you think I could use a program from a different computer or even copy the one from my Thinkpad?
