Basically I did this because I want to play Blu-Ray films AND have a decent selection of 16:9 resolutions - The Nvidia ones (with the modded inf) cause Acer Arcade not to play (gives an error about incorrect driver installed) and the official Acer ones only give you 2 actual 16:9 resolutions. Bear in mind this is mainly for my gaming as not everything will run at 1920x1080 but I don't want to go as low as 1366x768but it's fixed a wierd problem with my TV where the HDMI 720p output was bigger than the TV screen (which is 720p but doesnt have any over/underscan ability???).
****This should be regarded as a "hack" to the drivers and as such I take no responsibilty for anything that happens if you try this - I am providing the details in case others have the problems above****
I used the VGA_nVidia_9PGS_9PGE2_9EGE_v7.15.11.7626.zip from ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_6935/vista/64bit/ (176.26 drivers)
I also downloaded the modded inf from http://laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20760 (version is irrelevant) to get the section below with all the extra resolutions.
Copy the text in this quote:
Now find nvac.inf in the Display directory of the downloaded driver (you only need this directory) open it in notepad and locate this section:
All you need to do is copy everything in the first quote OVER everything in the second quote, BUT.... MAKE SURE YOU ONLY REPLACE THAT TEXT AND THAT YOU COPY IT EXACTLY!!!!
It should look like this:
Save the file.
Now run the setup file. It'll do the normal stuff, but will thow up a "Publisher could not be verified" error at the end, but thats fine - the modded file seems to fool windows into thinking it's official.
Reboot and viola, Blu-Ray playback and a decent set of resolutions for me to play with.
Please note this was tested only on the 8920 with Vista x64 driver in the sig but theoretically it should work with the 32 bit drivers in the same way, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work in reverse - using your modified inf with the official NVidia drivers so you can have the latest and greatest - although that would require a little more tweaking I believe.

Um...couldn't you just have made a bunch of custom resolutions using the Nvidia Control Panel?
I've got 854x480 and 1024x576 added to mine, just in case. -
Try to use theese drivers for your videocard:
version 177.98, Vista 32-bit
version 177.98, Vista 64-bit
note, that theese drivers are already patched and threre is no problems with installation on 8920G laptop -
will they play blu-ray?

An NVidia driver tweak...
