Just curious. I've been using this desktop replacement for over a year and enjoy it immensely, aside from the heavy heat production. Are there any other 8943G users out there?

I've had mine for a little over a year now (got it when it first went on sale at Newegg). Other than the wifi problem, which I fixed by replacing the wireless card, I've been fairly happy with it. I'm a little upset that the U.S. models got shortchanged over what the versions in the rest of the world came with (remote control, Blu-Ray burner, dual hard drives), but overall it's been a pleasant owning experience.

Still not sure if I'm going to get another laptop when I replace this in a few years (this is my first laptop other than one my employer provided me with) or if I'll go back to desktops; it hasn't moved from my desk since I bought it so if that's still the case I might just go back with a dedicated desktop model.

I got mine about the same time from NewEgg. I didn't know that it came with accessories outside the US. Not cool Acer, not cool.

I haven't had much problem with the wi-fi. Once a week it kicks out, then I just close the computer and then reawaken the system. No big. It happens rarely enough that it doesn't bother me.

I stepped down from a desktop to this and couldn't be happier. I traveled with it once, but the 10+ lbs is daunting, so I take my Dell Latitude on trips, but hen i do so, i miss the power and large screen.

This is a desktop replacement for me too, but as I said it hasn't actually moved from the desktop at all since I've had it.

One of the reasons I actually went with a laptop was to keep everything compact, but then I hooked up two external drives and a full size usb mouse so that kind of kills that idea. ;)

I went with this model because of the screen size and media capabilities (I primarily use my computer for media consumption), but I figure I might go back to a desktop in the future and just get a large monitor and good sound system to go with it. Plus, I've wanted to try my hand at building my own rig and it would be a perfect excuse to do that.

I'm nowhere near rig building, but after a few months on this forum, who knows?
