My first laptop was an Acer. I had an Aspire 1604LC. It wasn't too good. I won't talk about batterylife since it was the days of the Pentium 4, suffice to say it was short.
I've always found the overall quality lacking in Acers. They feel flimsy and damage easily. (Scratches and stuff). After a few years of use my screen was becomming worthless. I wasn't too happy with my Acer. I bought a Dell afterwards and I'm much happier with it.

Maybe they cleaned up their act, but I'm not planning on buying an Acer again.

Plz don't rush into buying a system. Don't forget to look at the laptops in the same catagory offered by other such as HP, Dell, Lenovo and other makers. Just so you don't miss out on a good and perhaps better deal.

Well i've been thinking about it for a long time, but now is really the time I need to buy it. Ive had my eye on the 4920, and going for £430 I thinks its a bargain...

    My experience has been opposite.
I have 2 yrs old 5672 aspire and I am pretty happy with it. It had best specs for the price at that time.
I bought one xps1530 last month and I got a bad screen, got a replacement which was even worse. So I returned it.
Now I have another aspire(details in my signature). I am pretty happy with it so far.

Although I appreciate Dell's service, and quickness with which I got my money back, but not their product!
