I've got my laptop, I've got some Gelid paste, and I've got an afternoon. I was wondering if there were any information out there on what a repaste would do. I've seen laptops with good cooling systems really not get much out of a repaste so wondering if it would be worth my effort since the temps are already awesome. I'm a bit reticent because I don't want to bend any part of the cooling system and mess up the contacts between the hot stuff and the paste.

One guy on the Acer forum had a horrible paste job from factory, was getting 100C temps. Repasted, lowered by 40 or something I think. Mine is coming in the next week or so, I guess worth checking regardless of whether I apply paste or not :)

Most of the time, all laptops regardless of make / configuration need a repaste in order to perform as we expect them to.
