    Hi.

Just received my 725, but the keyboard buttons, Fn, left alt, windows key and S and D seem very low, that entire area but those keys are the worst, I took the back cover off, and it`s the area where the cpu heatsink is, so i dont know if the keyboard can be adjusted.

    Thanks

    John.

That's probably a good idea. Will you get a replacement unit or did you dive up on it altogether?

I was having problems playing 720p youtube video`s fullscreen, I had the latest flash player 4gb memory and an ssd, I dont think the cpu is powerful enough, gpu acceleration was enabled, so i will be looking for something a little more powerfull

Hardware acceleration wasn't working then, because it can do 1080p flawlessly when it does.

I had the latest flash, and i right clicked the video in youtube and it said hardware acceleration was enabled, i clicked of the info button and there was a load of dropped frames, so i dont know what was wrong.

I had catalyst 12.8 running as well.

Just got my new 725, the keyboard looks fine one this one :)

Something strange, the hdd in my first 725 was an Western Digital 330GB 9.5mm , my new 725 came with an Seagate 330GB 7mm , and they used a rubber sticky ring to make up for the 2.5mm difference in height which i had to remove before i could fit my 9.5mm SSD

I have not tried the rest of the netbook yet, still setting the software up.

EDIT : HDtune says i have a 4 relocated sector count, on a new hdd :( , see below from the Seagate website

Your right it does player 1080p on YouTube fine, as long as the netbook is not doing anything at the same time. +REP

That's blocks. Re-allocated sectors- especially more than one- are a clear sign of the drive failing.
This drive is useless as it is- don't use it for storage or anything important.

You can try to keep it running just to make it fail and then send it back (with a notebook I assume) or simply write it off as it is.
Anyway- it's not safe to keep anything on it.

Not the same but it's about the same thing.
Re-allocation event count shows how many attempts have been made to re-allocate sector or sectors. Reallocated sectors count shows how many sectors were successfully re-allocated and pending sector count shows how many are still left waining to be re-allocated.

So Reallocation Event Count value of 6 can apply to one and the same sector that the drive attempted to re-allocate but have failed to do so.
In some cases SMART status doesn't show pending sectors and re-allocated sectors even though it shows repeated attempts to re-allocate something.

Either way that's a bad thing.
Can you post a SMART status (full set of values)

I have had that with an external Seagate drive, and even two years later it still works. For me, it went up to 12 I believe, and then stopped. You should stress test the drive for a few hours an see what happens.

BTW, is your keyboard fine this time?

John, check SMART status with another application. Sometimes you can get a false-positive due to an error within the app itself.
If it's not a false-positive it means Seagate is crap.

I have have an 1tb segate with recalibrating errors, I have a segate xt 250gb with end to end errors, and now two seagte 330gb with Re-allocation event count, i am not having much luck with segate, my first 725 had a Western Digital 330gb in it, but i had to return it because of the faulty keyboard.

The keyboard on my latest 725 seems ok, but i have just finished doing the microsoft updates so i have not used the keyboard much.

You probably cannot look at the last digit in the raw value column and conclude that the drive has 4 reallocation events. For instance, that value (612100000004) is exactly the same as F0, head flying hours. Honestly, I think the drive is fine. SMART values are not always entirely easy to make sense of.
