Anybody hook their Acer up to a TFT/CRT monitor and plug in a keyboard/mouse etc when they are at home and not on the move?? I'm looking for ideas on how to do this, so just after the options available.
Post pictures of your setups if you can, even if you do not use it "Like a desktop" it would be interesting to see your desk layout etc to compare to mine :D

    I'll put mine up tonight!

Sorry but i don't have a digital camera at the moment, but I'll describe it for you.

I am a writer and when at home i have my 8204 connected to an eZDock. To that i have connected my old eMachines 17" CRT running 1280x1024 and i run both monitors. I'll never understand these people who want to dock their computers and close the lid on the laptop and only want to use one monitor. Running 2 monitors is invaluable to me, double the real estate.

I have a logitech Marble mouse in one USB on the dock and my printer in another. Also connected is my much loved, late 80's IBM PS2 keyboard, the one with the deep key throw and that lovely click. I sought far and wide for this and found it at a local second hand shop. Cleaned it up and it is like brand new. I also have speakers plugged into the dock. Sometimes if i have to do any recording, i plug audio sources, a tube preamp or another device, into the audio input on the dock as well. Oh yes, and the dock is also connected to my router for the internet. I will sometimes use it's firewire connections to interface with production audio recorders as well. There is so much more that i can connect to this thing. I have not yet run out of ideas.

    Y

Yes using the two screens is very very useful. Is there any way to set which screen is "1" and which screen is "2"?? Or does the laptop screen have to be considered the main screen (Number 1)

Not sure which machine you have but open up Catalyst Control Center and use "Display Manager" to set that up.
