I will buy a Aspire 7745G, probably next week, and i came here to ask if anyone have this model and if you can give your feedback about..

I will buy with this specs:

    Intel® Core™ i5-450M - 2,40 GHz (Turbo 2,66 GHz)
    4 GB DDR3 (2 x 2048 MB)
    1TB (2 x 500GB), SATA 5400rpm
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 - 1GB

Is this a good model? What are the pros/cons?
Is the VGA switchable, i mean i can buy a better model and upgrade it? If yes what's MXM type?

    Regards.

I have recently bought the 7745 (no G). So far it is working very well. I am a total newb so any problems will probably be my doing. I was able to transfer files and settings over from my old XP without insident, using Belkin's Easy Transfer Cable, which came with CD to add Easy transfer to XP. The Xp is 32 bit and Intel Celeron. The Acer is Win7 Home Prem 64bit. It was not supposed to be able to work without Pentium on the XP but it did. I don't know what you are using it (7745G) for, but for home use it is way overkill in MHO. Also if you have not read http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/538943-ati-5650-much-worse-than-nv-gt420m-3dmark06.html , you may get some tips.

    I have 7745G:

    Intel® Core™ i5-M460 - 2,53 GHz (Turbo 2,8 GHz)
    4 GB DDR3 (2 x 2048 MB)
    (1 x 500GB), SATA 5400rpm 1x60Gb SSD
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 - 1GB

The only complain so far is the very glossy screen.
I havent played any games or such yet, just surfing ang compressing audio.

Well at least I like the option of using 2 HDD´s.
I have a 60Gb SSD with my OS on.
And I think that "U" get used to to glossy screen...

One minus is theres no Pc card on it,bu threre are 4 USB ports.
Maybee I´ll come up with sommething more..

    I borrowed your audio drivers.....

Also is your MB like mine with all the solder points for a PC card slot but no case hole? The adventurous modder could add it.

You would either need the service manual or to take it apart.
