Ordered a V3-771G a few days ago. I plan on upgrading the screen to a 1080p..not soon, but maybe once my warranty runs out. Has anyone tried it? If you have what panel have you used.

haven't upgraded yet, but have been doing ALOT of research! From what i can find, the best panel that is compatible is the Chimei innolux N173HGE-L21 for the glossy and L11 for the Matte. Brightness - 300 NIT, contrast 650:1 and full 1080P. from reviews i've read it is a very good panel for not much money...found one one ebay for about $100. You have to be careful though, alot of vendors will quote this part number, but will ship a "compatible" panel! Make sure you confirm the part number before you buy!!! If anyone knows of a better panel, feel free to chime in!

Yes! Someone replied to my thread. I usually look at screens through laptopscreen.com. Initially I looked up the lcd screen for the v3-771G through the site. So I was looking at the B173HW01 V5, but learned that the LCD used in my 771G was a CMO1721 which is also a Chimei Innolux. So I learned that the Chimei Innolux N173HGE-L21 or L11 is the right choice for me.

So the difference between L21 and L11 is Glossy vs Matte right? Is there any difference you know of? I also have not actually replaced my screen. I'll probably wait until 1) LCD Cracks, and Warranty doesn't cover for free, 2) Warranty is over, 3) it's on super sale.

It doesn't have to be Chimei Innolux though. Any screen of matching dimensions with an identical connector (and connectors tend to be identical for compatibility's sake) will work fine.

I knew that it does not need to be a Chimei Innolux, but just saying it probably is the safest best. Thanks for your input
