Anyone put a Core 2 Duo chip in a Travelmate 4202 yet?

So apparently the travelmate 4202 shares its bios with several other models:

    ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/note...4260_4280/bios

Now some of these models run the Core 2 Duo chips. Looking at the hardware between the 4202 and the other Acer models, it becomes quite evident that the 4202 is compatible hardware wise. Now, if I run the newer bios on the 4202, will this computer accept Core 2 Duo chips?

    Thanks!

    Yes you can,

You have the 945GM chipset and with a BIOS upgrade you should able to upgrade to Core 2 Duo. But is there really any point besides getting 64bit support? Bear in mind that you need to change cooling systems.

What kind of improvement would you expect if changing from the T2300 that comes with 4202WLMI to the T7000 Core 2 Duo? Perhaps someone can guesstimate the %age...
