Looking at one of these as a desktop replacement, I would be using it w/ my 24" dell 2405fpw resolution set at 1920x1,200 via DVI, can someone confirm that the x1600 will support this resolution and is usable on a larger monitor?

I've run 1600x1200 on the 5672, however I have yet to do anything higher than that. I know the limitation is in the LCD not the GPU, so theoretically what ever default native rez the x1600 supports is what it can run at. Check ATI's site for specs and go from there.

i dont think so the largest res i was able to get mine to was 1280x800 but if you dual screen i think you can get the 24" to that res and just ahve your notebook screen as 1280x800. i have done that.you can get the 24" to go to a 2560x1600 max.

You can set your external monitor as your DEFAULT in the ati control center bugmenot9. He can then disable the main screen on the 5672, keep the lid closed, and use it as a desktop replacement. I've done this with the 5672 when going to lan parties. But as I've stated I ran my games at 1600 x 1200 but only b/c that was the max rez my monitor supported. I'm sure if the native rez on a monitor was higher he could run it on this GPU. The limitation is in the LCD not in the GPU as previously stated ;)
