Hey guys, I found a page where it seems to list updates to our firmwares for the 20GB SSD installed on the motherboard of the Acer S3 that accelerates the laptop.
Has anyone tried it?
MyDigitalSSD mSATA, Half Slim, and 2.5 Inch SATA SSD Firmware Update | My Digital Discount
My current firmware is S5FAM016 and it seems like this new S5FAM030 is significantly faster at least in the writes portions.

So I am assuming no one here has tried it. Will it void my warranty if I try it? I am just afraid that maybe Acer has a special firmware on the 20GB SSD because I see it is partitioned with 4GB hibernation storage and the rest as cache.

Check the original firmware number (S5FAM016) on the net. When Acer uses custom/OEM firmwares these are not available anywhere but in Acer computers and they have their own firmware revisions.
If S5FAM016 can be found anywhere apart from Acer- that means it's not Acer specific and can be updated easily.
Anyone tried to update firmware in 20GB SSD inside Acer S3 ultrabook?
