Has anyone tried installing the latest Intel driver for the 2915 wireless card on a Travelmate 8100 series machine?
The newest driver distributed by Acer is quite a bit older than the 9.0.3.9 driver now being distributed by Intel, and there have been reports of improved wireless performance with the newer drivers, so I'd like to try them out.
However, Intel warns (and various web postings occasionally corroborate) about installing generic drivers vs the OEM versions.
Anyone have any experience with this particular driver that they can report?
Thanks!
Jonathan

Yes I did - for me it did not solve my intermittent disconnects. The 2915abg was a pretty good card. I tried all the drivers and all the Firmware for my routers and all the various settings and tweaks with the card and the router - for me nothing worked.
As for how the driver 9.0.3.9 worked - I did not notice a significant difference from the previous version , but it was no worse.
I took the plunge and replaced the Intel 2915abg with an Atheros AR5006XS based WiFi card.
IMHO - this card is a superior product (or the drivers are better) - regradless of why it is better - I am very pleased. -
Thanks for the info!
Anyone try Intel's 9.0.3.9 driver for 2915 with TM8100?
