Hello, is there anyone going to take their 8940g apart at some point? I'm after some pictures of the motherboard with dimensions for a custom build.

    Thank you :)

Here is a service guide for 8940G. There is a motherboard layout. Here is a photo of a motherboard. And here is an owners lounge. Search there for additional photos, maybe someone already tried to make some hardware mods for that laptop.

What type of custom build you want to do? :)

Thank you, I have a 8935g which has damaged usb ports and I suspect the motherboard is damaged. The chassis is almost identical to the 8940. I want to see similarities to my motherboard to see if it will fit. If I don't think it will I'll just buy a 8935g motherboard but at this time I don't see any issues to upgrading. I searched about and cannot see that anyone has tried this or even thought of it.

    Best regards
