    Hey all

First time here so I hope Im posting in the right place.
I recently purchased an aspire 1 netbook and Ive had an intermittten problem with the touchpad. It encounters an error and the box do I want to send error or dont send pops up but the touchpad is unresponsive. I have presssed fn and f7 which disables touchpad then I enable it again but this doesnt recitfy the problem. Only rebooting computer does.
    Anyone offer any advice?

    Welcome.

What OS? I'm assuming XP but you need to provide a bit more info when you ask for help, it makes it easier to get the proper help.

Is it an error regarding a synaptics software that you are getting this error box? If it is, you may want to look into getting different drivers for it but it should not be doing that, it may be a bad install of the software/drivers for the touchpad.

Hi Goofball.yes Im running XP and it is a synaptics error. The netbbok is only 3 weeks old so wondered if this is covered by warrenty or is it something I need to rectify.
I can follow on screen instructions no problem but wouldnt know where to look and what to look for if I needed to install any drivers etc. Any help is extremely grateful.

Has it ever worked without an issue? Is doing system restore an option for you?

It first happened about a week after first use and has happened about 4 or 5 more times in the last few weeks. I thought about a restore but figured if it was a driver error or some form of installaion error then i would rather get it corrected. If it happens when I am not able to use a plug in mouse I have to switch off by button and then I lose what Im doing.
Ive just found a number for Acer so will be phoning them soon. Thanks again for stopping by.
