Not the best place to find an unbiased answer.
Depends on what you do with your computer really.
Tech support is horrible from what I've heard.

Judging from all that I've read here and at various other sites, Acer Tech support isn't any worse than a bazillion other companies, Thomas. There are horror stories, and warnings from people advising against buying nearly any brand you can think of, right here at NBR.

If I found an Acer which appealed to me, and the price was reasonable, I'd buy it without worrying any more than if I bought from any other big company.

Tech Support isn't that good, so try not to run into any problems or buy used or refurbished.... :p

    I'll be honest.
    Dell sucks.
But I'd take it over an Acer, sorry, sad truth.
Besides, I wouldn't care about there support, I never used it on my HP Compaq desktop or Hell laptop...
    No typos there, either.

I just got an Acer laptop. Build quality is on par with the Sony Vaio it replaced.
    I'm very happy with it.
I e-mailed Acer Support and they replied within 24 hours. This website is also a good resource for any questions or problems you might have.

Acer has came a long way.... but they are by no means perfect.
they worst part of acer and most MASS MANUFACTURED laptops is the fact the the people who answer the phones don't even know how to use the PCs in front of then,,, luckily everytime i've called dell i've gotten to speak with a person who was fluent in english.

personally i've had nothing but good service from the 3 acer laptops in my family, but i know that is often luck.

you get what you pay for But. its what back-up you get from the company/maker.
this site is full of horror stories but that could be one story among 1000's of happy users stories.

Buy What you need and you will be happy :D

I have 2 Acer laptops, 1 a year old, the other 6 months. My daughter has 2 Acer laptops and a desktop. All over a year old. The only problems on any of them was her daughter password protecting her laptop and forgetting the password.

Depends on the model. If you get an aspire with a decent graphics card, yea. But don't expect to run Crysis with an x3100.
