    Hey guys,

I found this laptop at Source Canada: -

    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Prod...ne&category=Notebooks_English&product=2510337

I was wondering if anyone had any opnions on it, or know of a better laptop that I could get within the same price range in Canada itself.

I am looking for a minstream laptop (16") the only real requirements I had was that it should be vista 64bit (so that I can upgrade later, I am also planning to upgrade the RAM on this to 4GB), It should def have a discrete video card, and min 2Ghz (preferably intel but Im alright with both if its worth it).

I am mainly going to be using this laptop for university work but would love to have the option for occassional gaming.

Any advice at all would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance

check out Best Buy if you can. I bought a 6930g that has very similar specs, but has 4gig RAM, at the same price.

I love it so far. Plays on my 1080p plasma easily and beautifully, plugs into my DVI LCD (with HDMI adaptor) easily. the laptop autosenses it's monitor and adjust resolutions automatically.

I've played NWN2, WoW, and City of Heroes so far, all very nice and smooth. vista x64 seems very fast and solid (slower than XP though). 64bit Photoshop CS4 is very fast on it. Loads in seconds.

    Thanks!

I did see best buy, but the laptop you are talking about isn't for sale anymore - it was an old model - that is why im waiting till the last day of sale to see if best buy or futureshop comes out with something new by then

I got a demo model from BB. You're right the model is discontinued (at least as an item from BB). Anything that ends in $xxx.95 in the price tag is discontinued, so the sales guy told me.

I was also told their website is flaky. I saw the 6930 appear and disappear a couple times on the site, but they still had at least one in a couple stores here in Ottawa.

A newer model is expected in a couple months according to the rep. Mind you, I didn't get alot of confidence from the guy's assertion.
