Hello I have an Aser Aspire 5610 - 2328. The model is 5610z. I have the same issue with my webcam and it is orbicam with logitech software. I also here the unplugging sound and also get BSOD's. My laptop is under warranty and it has been sent in to be checked. They could not find any issues also when I click the orbicam icon first try it shows it disconnected. I try again it works. They still claim its working and nothing they can do they have also seen what it doese when clicking on the icon and still claim its working. Not sure if they really checked the connections I will look into it. It is under warranty thru Wal-Mart and was sent to a place called Cyber Test in Longwood Florida.

I moved your post to a new thread, it's not nice to hijack other people's thread.

I understand, we just need to keep each model separate based off of issues.

If you are still having issues with your camera feel free to disable it in device manager. Only disconnect the camera if you feel comfortable with the entire process (not to mention the location and connections might be different)

    Ok it's cool

If I disable it I cannot use it. I mentioned I can use it just have to click twice for it to open. I think if we can get enough people to complain to Acer about the issue maybe they will be a recall?

Typically... and I do mean "typically" they will only have a recall or class action lawsuit when they all are affected within the warranty period.

For example, the dell laptop batteries that were exploding. etc.

I don't think we have much on this one, just gotta live w/it. But that's your torch if you wish to carry it.

Alot of Dell's were out of warranty when they did the recall and they HAD to replace them. This webcam issue seems to be on alot of models.

Just an update. The laptop was sent in for repair. They tell me that all they did was use my recovery CD'S and the webcam worked. Not sure if I believe them or not because I done that exact thing a million times. Also I installed XP and had the same issue. Something just don't add up my warranty company for some reason is lying to me and got the repair center to lie also.
