After a BIOS upgrade (of course failed), the laptop won't turn on anymore. What I tried to recover the BIOS:
    1. Removed power, battery, HDD and all USB devices
    2. Renamed 1.24 BIOS to JV10X64.fd and copied to a freshly formatted FAT32 flash drive
    3. Inserted the drive
    4. Held down Fn+Esc
    5. Connected power and turned it on (still holding down the keys)
    6. Released the keys after 5 sec.
    7. Flash drive started blinking for about 15 sec.
    8. Nothing. blank screen and no activity

Also tried different hotkeys, same result except that the drive isn't accessed.

Is JV10X64.FD the right filename according to AndyP's Phoenix tool?

The tool says it's the right name but it doesn't matter anymore, the netbook won't show any reaction anymore (not even the battery is charging).

Being unable to charge with a damaged BIOS is normal on Insyde systems, and does not mean that recovery is impossible. As long as the fan spins up when you press Fn+Esc, recovery should work.

    However:
    -Try a FAT16 flash drive.
-Try using a CD or other optical media for recovery. (E.g. the Aspire 5720G, also an Insyde system, is very picky about which flash drives it can recover from - however, it easily recovers from any CD or DVD.)

It doesn't even do that anymore.
I already had a similar problem a few months ago. Brought it back to the store and got it back transformed from an Aspire One 753 to an Aspire 1830T with better CPU and GPU. Maybe I'll get an i5 this time. :D

Does the power button/LED flash if you plug in the charger while holding Fn+Esc?
