    Aspire 2012 blank screen and loud noise when turned on

    My laptop has decided to give ma ton of trouble all at once. The other day the backlight of the screen stopped working, and then today I turned it on and the LCD didn't even turn on. The computer made a very loud beep that went on until I turned the laptop off.

    It's an Acer Aspire 2012WLMi, going on 3 years old... I haven't had even the slightest problem with it until now....

    Any thoughts on what could be going on? I opened it up to see if something was loose or anything else I could see but couldn't find anything visually wrong with it.
