I have been using my Acer Aspire 2012 WLCi for more than 3 weeks now. But I never worried about checking processor specifications until today. After seeing customer reviews at NewEggs (http://secure.newegg.com/app/CustratingReview.asp?DEPA=0&item=34-115-116) about some of them receiving Dothan processors for 2012WLMi, I checked mine with CPU-Z.

To my surprise it shows my 2012WLCi as M 715 Dothan processor with 2048KB L2 cache. I bought my notebook in mid July from a small computer shop and I know that they got it down from Acer America in Texas.

I would like to invite those who bought 2012 notebooks recently to check your systems and post here.

CPU-Z executable can be found here. http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

I also received the older Banias. I'm not too upset about it though, it is, after all, what I paid for and my "weaker" 2012 performs just as well as another posters "stronger" Acer (1.8GHz Dothan v. 1.5GHz Banias, 128MB Radeon 9700 v. 64MB Radeon 9700)-- at least in 3DMark01SE and 3DMark03. Hello, Denis. I believe I have bought my Acer Aspire 2012 WLCi at the same store as you. Is is at Pacific Mall, called Notebook Outlet? Anyway, I bought mine last Friday, and I am happy to find that it has the new Dothan CPU. However, there is a question I want to ask. Does your integrated microphone work?

If it does, it is located at the bottom left corner of the laptop, right? I tried using it with windows xp' sound recorder, but it doesn't pick up any voice. If this is a defect, I would bring it to service centre to repair it. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yes, my integrated mic works. But it doesn't pick the sound loud enough when used with Sound recorder and you need a headphone to hear the playback. You are right, it is located in bottom left corner.
