I purchased an Aspire 3000 for my daughter summer 2005. About 6 months ago it started having video problems on boot, i.e. no Acer splash screen, and the right 2" of the Wide screen would stay blank after booting to Windows XP. With time it has gotten worse to the point the video now comes on occasionally and that after the power has been on 5-10 minutes. It works just fine with an external monitor. I have upgraded the BIOS to 3a32 and that doesn't seem to be the issue.

It also does not seem to be a windows, or OS problem and I am suspecting a hardware problem...possibly the motherboard or integrated GPU?? I am not an expert there...just know enough to be dangerous.

As I said it works fine with an external monitor.......but that doesn't work well considering it IS a notebook! Any thoughts or idea greatly appreciated....
