Aspire 3020 power management and usb problem!

Hi guys!

This post is a bit long but I just wanted to explain in detail... for easy understanding. Please dont turn your head the other way, help.

I have a little situation at hand... two situation to be correct...

First, I was changing something in Control Panel - Power options and messed something up. Before when left alone, screen first went black than laptop went to stady-by... and when I pressed any key it turned on directly on the profile choice in Windows. Now, the screen goes black and after awhile laptop goes into stand-by... but when I press any key it acts as if it was turned off... its loading Windows again... the orange light is on when in stand-by but shouldnt I be right at profile choice in Windows when I press any key? Does anyone know the default power scheme (minutes) for laptop\notebook in Power options in Control panel... so, I could undo any possible problems due to my changes...
And just to mention.. when I press Fn F3.. ePower screen does not turn on!

And second... I bought a scanner... and couldnt use it. After a lot of stress I have found out that the problem is in usb usage... inspite me having 2.0 usb ports... what should I do? Upgrade drivers...

Please anyone who went through this or anyone who could help... Help!!
