I have an Acer Aspire 3053 Laptop. This connects wirelessly to a Netgear Rangemax Wireless Router WPN824 which is connected to an Orange Livebox (modem).

The laptop picks up the netgear router and shows the following :

The Signal strength on the laptop is showing excellent
    The Status is connected
    The speed is showing 54mbps

But when i try to call up a web-page, `Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage` comes up everytime.

    Why is this ?

Is it to do with the speed ?

I have been told that getting a Netgear wireless adaptor - suitable for the router i have - to plug into my laptop will increase the speed. Is this so ?

    Please help, thanks.

Your router may be blocking your IP thru a firewall. Did you plug a hard line into it and see if you got the same problem? Is your router encrypted? (secured).

    Thanks mate.
I found out that the laptop did not have the routers IP address.

    All is fine now, thanks.
