I had gotten an aftermarket internal bluetooth chip for my 5570z, and all I had to do was pop the middle cover off the bottom of my notebook and plug it in, so my question is, is it the same for the Aspire 3100? I looked at a couple of dissasembly guides for similar notebooks, and they require that the keyboard be removed, and that the plug-in port is kind of under the power button. Does anyone know where the exact location of it is on the Aspire 3100?

Thank you! It looks a little more involved than the 5570z, but I like to get my hands dirty! I don't mean to change the subject, but would you happen to know where I could get a disassembly guide like the one you linked for me, except for the Aspire 5570z?

I don't have the service guide for that model sorry
. It is usually very difficult to find acer service guides, I don't know why acer doesn't just publish them so everyone can get them. Ask around in the acer board and see if anyone has the service guide you want.
