Hi ,
I've recently bought aspire 3502 WLCI and I'm facing a problem with GFX (SiSM661MX chipset with integrated MirageĀ graphics). It is ****ty GFX card , but I need the computer as typer.
I will attach a picture of the screenshot to describe the problem.
The resolution keeps shrinking although I've reistalled whole OS ... and put new drivers.
Maybe I'll help to flash bios or use 3rd party drivers, but I don't know where to look for that kind of stuff.
Please advice ... ASAP cause I'm leaving states

What did Acer have to say about it?
-
well the thing is that they've told me that I should send the whole package for examination , but since I'm leaving in about 2 weeks I simply can't do it cause they have 30 day limit for examination of products.
And I don't think that it is hardware error , but software one. (It ain't acting like HW error) -
Was it this way when you first got it? Might be a bios update on Acer's website. Maybe something you installed after getting it mucked it up? Maybe there is a driver on Sis' website. If you've already re-installed it, I don't know what else it could be.

After I've reinstalled Windows XP from Home to Profesional edition it edured 14 reboots working fine , but after that it started to act as before.
I've tryied SISpage but they have only general driver pack for all their products and the one wich can be found at acer.com is same as the one which goes on CD with computer.
I haven't tryied new bios, should I ?

If you got a recovery disc, I would try to restore it to its original state. I usually say don't update the bios unless you have a reason to which you do, but I would try the recovery disc first.

I've tried recovery disc before I formated HDD and installed XP pro SP1 ... but apparently it did work but only for short while (1 reboot)
So the new bios seems as last thing to do is it ?
Or maybe there are drivers which I might have overlooked. -
If you restored it to its original state and are still having the problem it is more than likely a hardware issue.

That is what I thought in first place but how come that it worked a number of reboots ... that points little bit to software error. I don't know now
