    Aspire 3610 - beeping

    I have a 6 month old Aspire 3610 that is working great except for one small issue. There is a random beep every now and then. I have tried everything in the set up menu and Windows to turn it off. I have tried timing it to see what it correlates to but have had no luck since it seems truly random. Any ideas? I would love to be able to stop the beeping since it is really annoying in the office and on planes.
    Any help would be appeciated.

    i know most computers have an internal speaker for overheating warnings, hardware errors ect. so is it coming from ur actual laptop speakers u use to listen to music. or is it coming from some random part of ur computer. if its comming from ur actual laptop speakers just disable sounds in windows, which im sure u already have done but hey ill just throw it out there. if its ur system speaker, then u have to change something in the bios. and i dun know what to do there cause most mass produced laptops and desktops dont give u much options in the bios.

    Thanks for the reply. No it is not the audio speakers but rather internal to the machine. I tried everything to turn the sound off but it is definetly coming from inside the machine. I hear the fan workinh, nothing is blocking the ventilation openeings. I am at a loss. It is most annoying, and has gone off 3 times as I write this. Oh, and it happens on AC or DC power.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    If it's not the stereo audio speakers, and you've even turned the system sounds off and still hear it, I can't imagine what it is. (I didn't even know there was another internal speaker if that's what you're hearing...sort of like a BIOS mini speaker).

    But then, that shows what I know about Laptops...my 5102 is the first one I've had in many years.

    However, if the machine is only 6 months old, it should still be under warranty.
    I would call Acer tech support and ask what it is.

    Chances are they've heard about it before.
    The two times I called them they were very helpful. (Even though you will read other horror stories around here).


    Just call during an off-peak hour, or you'll be sitting on the phone for quite a while.
