I'm trying desperately to get rid of this:
![]()
driver and replace it with a Microsoft driver, problem is, everytime I uninstall it, Windows kindly (annoyingly) detects, and reinstalls the driver... and I don't know where to get the Microsoft driver.
Help?
Anyone?
Thanks.

It's one of the Intel chipset drivers, this one is specific for the chip the manages your IDE connections.
Rightclick -> Properties -> Driver Tab -> Driver details button and note the names and directories of the drivers
Go to the file and again rightclick -> Properties -> Version Tab.
Surprise, surprise, they are (most likely) all MS drivers!!
If you would disable it your HD may stop working.
The Intel Chipset drivers are in most cases a set of INF-files which tell Windows which drivers to use.
You can find the latest versions at www.intel.com
BTW Any reason why the modem isn't installed? (the question mark further down). If you worry about resource usage you can install it and disable it. Just esthetics and saving windows looking for it every time you startup.
I don't know what you are trying to achieve, but apparently a lack of knowledge doesn't hamper you.
