please let me know, I don't really know Acer reliability. I prefer to opt for a lappy that would last me several years. For this one - NO CLUEEEEEEEEEES

Dear all,
Hi I have been keeping my eye on the Aspire 3623NWXCi. I've search the net for no luck about the technical specification of its memory and build quality.
Can anybody please share to us (, and me) whether it uses the 200 pin DDR2 lappy memory or 240 pin DDR2 lappy memory....
Is it PC3200 or faster?
I really appreciate any replies, thanks,
Monkey -
Did you read the specs you provided? DDR2 is 240 pin. it's either PC2-4200 (533MHz) or PC2-5300 (667MHz)

The 3623 is not really good value if the price is $730(is that in USD?). There might be better choices depending on the region where you live. Also, I believe the "N" desgination in Acer systems, means that the system will not ship with Win XP, but will include a Linux based OS, so if you are not really comfortable using Linux, then it would be a good idea to look for a different laptop or be prepared to buy a copy of Win XP. Reliability wise Acer is pretty good, but since it is a budget laptop, it will have its shortcommings and dont expect it to be top of the line quality.
Also it uses 200 pin DDR2 SODIMM. The 240 pin DDR2 memory are all used for desktops.
EDIT: If you are in the US, then Tigerdirect is selling the same laptop(the same specs atleast) for $399, including Win Xp Home...

To K3LO,
I am not very well informed about how many PIN are in the DDR2 memory type. But I do know that DDRI uses the 200 pin memory for lappy. Still, a thank you to K3LO.
To Miner,
Tx you very much, dude, for telling me that the DDR2 only use the 200 pin memory. I guess laptop memory uses 200 pin both for DDR2 and DDR1. Nice conclusion.
Hmm, Miner, I'm not in the US. So the price I mention - Yes, it's in US $ - are relatively cheap according to us compare to the brand new lappy which are sold for over $1000. Those good lappy that you can get in the US for $700-800 are sold much higher over here. That's suck....
Miner, if I 'may' compare the specification of Aspire 3623NWXCi with the older HP Compaq EVO N600c in term of reliability, $$$, and processing power. What would you recommend?....
HP Compaq EVO N600c US$ 540

Correction for the Aspire 3623NWXCi. It is sold for $649
The spec:
Intel Celeron M 370 - 1500MHz ( 1MB Cache , FSB 400MHz ) , 512MB DDR2 (NOT SPECIFIED whether it is the PC2 3200, PC2 4200, or PC2 5300),
HDD 40GB , 14,1" tft XGA Wide XGA (1280*800), DVD-CDRW COMBO Drive Internal , Mouse : Touchpad , Modem 56k , LAN 100Mbps , 1 X PCMCIA CardBus 32bit , 3 X USB Port Ver 2.0 , RGB Port , Wireless LAN 802.11BG 54Mbps , Battery Lithium Ion , Adaptor Charger , Bag

i recently bought the 3624WXMi and I think it was a fair deal.. you get Celeron 380 1.6GHz, 512MB DDR2 PC3200, one slot empty, Pioneer combo double layer DVD writer, 80GB drive, 14" XGA Bright, LAN, Wireless 54, USB 2.0 for $699 after rebate

Riverside,
Hey buddy, thank you so much for this info. I search your postings, it seems your 3624WXMi has the DDR2 PC4200 not PC3200. Am I right?
Here again I copy the spec from your own posting. (Check below)
My question is Do you think the Celeron M, is much much capable to perform its job? Is it true that Celeron M 380 or 370 is the newer generation of Mobile Pentium or Centrino???
May I ask you, how do you feel about your 14" screen 1280*800. I'm opting to get the high-res because I do lots of text and graphics.
Again, tx u so much for this input,
Monkey
PS: Any complain yet, so far about the heat and dead pixel?
