This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Aspire 3680 network and audio problems

    This laptop came with vista but the owner tried to downgrade to 2 different versions of xp and messed up something and we can't get to reload Vista but I was able to reload XP Pro but there are 2 problems, no internet and audio. The Device Manager shows only the Ethernet controller and Network controller with the Yellow question marks, I downloaded and installed the "Marvell" LAN driver from here:

    but still no change, could this mean that the unit's network card is shot or did I install the wrong driver?
