    Hey all!

The other day I went ahead and installed XP Pro SP2 on my Aspire 3680-2633. The best part of this was the huge jump in performance overall. The only annoying thing I've found since the install is that the little orange LED that indicates WLAN status is not synched properly with the actual status of the WLAN. What I mean by this is that when I slide the little slider, and the light turns on, it actually disables the WLAN. When I slide the switch again, and the light turns off, the WLAN is then enabled again. This was obviously the opposite while I was using the factory install of Vista Basic. Any way to reverse them back to the way they're supposed to be? (LED on = WLAN on, LED off = WLAN off)

And possibly related, when I slide the bluetooth switch, the LED doesn't turn on, but I think I might need to actually attempt to connect a bluetooth device to to it for the LED to activate. I don't have any bluetooth devices handy anyway, so not a big deal, but thought it might be related.

If this is a hardware issue, I'm going to be taking the entire thing apart next week in order to drop in a different processor, so I wanted to get all the info before I do that.

    Thanks in advance!

do the ON SCREEN messages match the actual state of the hardware??

or do the ON SCREEN messages match the LEDs which are in the wrong state?

    later,

The on screen messages match the actual state of the hardware, which is good. It's just the LED thats out of sync.

Sounds good, I'll be waiting :)

I also discovered that my 3680 is one of the models that has the bluetooth switch, but does not in fact have bluetooth. After a little research, I found out that my board does support it and I bought the part on ebay, so that takes care of that at least!
