Hi, I'm new here, new laptop owner as well. I've had the Acer aspire 4315 for about 2 months now, got it late December, and lately I've been getting this random white screen. Doesn't matter what I do or what applications are running, I just get this white screen. I can tell that the system is still running because I can still hear sound (if it happens when I'm watching videos). I reboot and I get my screen back, but I'll get the white screen again at some point. Sometimes it happens during bootup.
specs:
WinXP SP2
System Model: Aspire 4315
BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz
Memory: 502MB RAM
14.1" Wide XGA CrystalBrite
I'm thinking that maybe it's a problem with the LCD, maybe the connection between the mobo and LCD is faulty. Has anyone encountered this issue? I'm thinking about taking it to ACER, but before I do that, any suggestions?

Hello Horn,
Have you try update the bios? 1.8 is available from Ace FTP site.
Have you try connect to an external monitor? If the external show the same thing then it is probably a driver issue.
Sometime, screen resolution set too high will cause this problem too.
