Hi folks,
I have an Acer Aspire 4520. Last night I tried to open it's service panel (located at the bottom of the unit) to change the memory boards.
I unscrewed all the screws, but I could not remove the cover. It was stucked, glued. All the screws was loose, and no way to remove it (I applied a moderate force with a screwdriver on the slot).
Question: Is there any way or "secret" to remove the panel? Is it factory glued?

Just pull it out from the sides. That is already open, just use a flat nosed screwdriver to latch it out. The cover is really locked well so you need to force it out.

i was in the same situation with my 4315. Use a paper clip (round edges) instead of a screw driver.
Stick it in the slot and push in the direction of the slot. Work your way around the edges and bend the large cover like a hotdog to try to work the tabs out of the sockets. -
just when you think its going to snap, it just pops of.
nerve racking moments though
Aspire 4520 - Service Panel does not open.
