Aspire 4937G in XP cannot adjust brightness

hi.. jus brought acer aspire 4937G to replace my dead 5584(which the graphics card dead). so reinstall XP from old laptop to new one.

before i install the graphics driver, i'm able to adjust the brightness. but after i install the driver(latest from acer), i totally cannot adjust the brightness. is either very dim, or very bright.

i tried getting latest driver from nvidia, but during setup, only HD audio, dont have any display driver to install.

so anyone got this problem using this xp on this model? i suspect its the driver problem.

any help is appreciated!

First I'd get the video driver from laptopvideo2go.com the one from Acer is probably very outdated.
Second do you have the Launch Manager installed? On some models you're obligated to install it otherwise some of the buttons on the keyboard(like volume control, brightness etc) doesn't work.

 

i tried the driver from laptopvideo2go.com. none of the driver support the nvidia g105m in this model.

i hav also install launch manager, didnt work too.. launch manager job was to display it on screen. when those button was press. but it didnt appear when i wan to control brightness.

i hav formatted n fresh install xp, so it is not the driver problem..
