I have an Aspire 5000 and have had it for a year or so now.... I think it's a great computer. I just recently have been having problems with keeping the power cord in the right spot to charge the battery. I have tried 2 different cords thinking it was a problem with the adapter, but it seems to be an issue with the port itself. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how do you resolve it without replacing the whole board. Thank you.

Yes, I have had this problem. There isn't a way to do it other than changing the motherboard, but what I was able to do was jiggle the metal connector (with the AC adapter DISCONNECTED AND BATTERY removed from system. This is VERY dangerous, make sure there isn't any source of power to the notebook) and get it to stay connected to the AC plug.
