I have an Acer Aspire 5002WLMi running Windows XP Home Edition SP2. I have been getting alot of bsod's related to cdfs.sys. This usually happens when I insert a cd/dvd. It happens at random times though.
I have found out that the use of emulation software such as Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools cause it. But recently it happened again when I put in my Starcraft cd. It was trying to load then I got a BSOD with cdfs.sys.
I called Acer and they said that it is a software issue and that I should use the drivers that came with the system or the updated ones on the Acer site, and not the drivers from hardware manufacturers. I did use the original drivers and updated ones from the Acer website but I still get this problem. The only program that I have installed that actually uses the cd/dvd drive is Nero.
I was wondering if anyone has this problem or maybe even a solution.

by any chance do you have the ACER Arcade, running on your system, from what it looks like that might cause problems similar to Alcohol 120% or dameon tools. mabye someone with a bit more experiance can correct me if i'm wrong though.
