    Hi everyone,
I have an Acer aspire 5100-3583 which has worked fine for more then 4 year.
Now It has problem whit booting the system. When the power is turned on, the Acer screen appear normally but after that it is stacked and doesn't go further.
If i press F2 ( To start setup) the screen return the following sentence: please wait..... and it get stuck again.
If instead of pressing F2 I hit the esc button, a black screen appear with all checking information on it, that look like the following:

    - 640 k ram Passed
    -Extended Ram passed
    -System bios shadowed
    -video bios shadowed
-FIXED DISK 0: serial of my hard drive

Could anyone tell me which is the problem here? I have the feeling that the HDD is gone..... If this the case were should I by a new HDD?
Thanks in advance to everyone has the answer

Looks to me you're CMOS is corrupt. Try holding the on/off button for 30 seconds after removing the battery and the power cable. This should reset you're BIOS.
