Hello, my question is about the empty mini-pcie slot inside the 5102wlmi. I plugged in a sprint novatel e725 wwan card, but windows doesn't detect anything. Any ideas? Is there a modded bios that detects it?

from the wwan cards I have seen, most are usb based minicard form factors. most likely the 5100 does not have usb lanes on the minicard slot.

try a normal wireless card to see if that will detect in the slot to let you know if it is bad or not.

I tried an Intel 3945ABG card, and it would keep rebooting at bios level. I think it's because these intel cards were possibly made somehow proprietary to intel chipsets. So it seems the port is active. The card was taken out of a USB adapter - Novatel U760.
